ANNA’S STORY

When I was first diagnosed with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS), I felt as if a huge stone had been lifted from my shoulders. After over a decade of symptoms to which no doctor could give a name, I finally had an answer.

I joined the IC/BPS patients’ association in my country, and a whole new world opened to me. Knowing that other women in Europe suffered from the same disease made me feel part of a community that was trying to find a solution to it. Realizing that there are patients in a much worse condition than myself gave me the strength to advocate for them.

Being part of ERN eUROGEN made me feel supported, made me feel that we, IC/BPS patients, are not alone in our journey with this disease. ERN eUROGEN is a network of people who understand us, what we go through, and whom we can rely on.
