The European Joint Action JARDIN is a 18.75 million EU-project targeting the integration of European Reference Networks into national healthcare systems. Work package 7.2 of JARDIN specifically deals with topics regarding undiagnosed diseases.

In this context, an ERN-overarching expert panel for multidisciplinary case discussions has been constituted recently. Led by Prof. Helge Hebestreit and Dr. Ursula Unterberger from Würzburg/Germany, the ERN expert panel for undiagnosed patients, which is foreseen in task T7.6 of JARDIN, commenced in early 2026.

A number of experts from different ERNs have already joined the panel and are committed to diagnosing particularly complex patient cases. The plan is to discuss at least 10 to 20 undiagnosed patients in a small pilot in the frame of the Joint Action, using the EU case conference tool CPMS 2.0.

More ERN experts are of course still welcome! If you are interested, please contact us at unterberge_u@ukw.de
