Holm Graessner, ERN-RND coordinator, appointed commissioner of the Lancet International Commission on Rare Diseases (RDI-LCRD)


The coordinator of ERN-RND (ERN for rare neurological diseases), Holm Graessner, has been appointed Commissioner of the newly created RDI-Lancet Commission on Rare Diseases.

The initiative is dedicated to generating evidence-based and equity-based recommendations that are implementable and impactful in all countries to dramatically improve the lives of people with rare diseases or complex conditions.

The RDI-Lancet Commission on Rare Diseases strives to improve visibility to address health-care disparities for 400 million people


The RDI-LCRD brings together 27 commissioners representing countries from around the world and bringing diverse perspectives (gender, lived experience) and expertise (ethics, clinical care, research, biostatistics, economics, regulation, technology, innovation) from a variety of health systems. Among the 27 commissioners, Holm Graessner is the only one from an ERN.
