«Much more that you can imagine»
On 30 January, with a launch event at the Auditorium of the Italian Ministry of Health, UNIAMO Federazione Malattie Rare launched the #Uniamoleforze campaign.
More than 50 initiatives and events throughout the month of February, to put the spotlight on the needs and demands of people living with rare diseases or complex conditions, culminating on 28 February on Rare Disease Day
The launch event, broadcast live on the Ministry of Health’s channels, focused on research. Moderated by Sergio Iavicoli, Director General of Communication at the Ministry of Health, it was opened by Marcello Gemmato, Under-Secretary of State for Health in charge of Rare Diseases, Simona Durante, Expert on Disability and DSA, Ministry of University and Research, Rocco Bellantone, President of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Annalisa Scopinaro, President of UNIAMO.
Among the activities of this campaign launch was the presentation of JARDIN to healthcare professionals, patients and policy and decision makers.
Prof. Americo Cicchetti, DG Health Programming, spoke about JARDIN and the National Pilot Hub that WP5 and WP8 are jointly developing.
Luca Sangiorgi, ERN BOND – European Reference Network on Rare Bone Diseases Coordinator, spoke at the conference ‘Molto più di quanto immagini’.
During this campaign, Luca Sangiorgi will join experts from healthcare, research institutions, patient advocacy groups and policy makers to discuss the latest developments and the way forward in rare disease research.
The UNIAMOleforze campaign feature more than 50 initiatives and events throughout the month of February, to put the spotlight on the needs of the more than 2 million people living with rare diseases in Italy, culminating on 28 February 2025 on Rare Disease Day.
