The National Contact Point, integrated within the Office of the Chief Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health and Active Ageing of Malta, is committed to empowering individuals by providing them with comprehensive and accessible information on accessing medical treatment abroad. Its mission is to facilitate seamless cross-border healthcare services for residents and visitors to Malta and for European citizens seeking healthcare in Malta. The National Contact Point (NCP) is the designated point in the country of insurance or affiliation. It is based at the Office of the Chief Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health and Active Ageing in Malta.

Cross-Border Healthcare Malta

The Cross-Border Healthcare website was officially launched on the 29th February 2024 at the National workshop on patients’ rights and rare diseases, organised together with the European Commission. Among its services, it offers information on the 24 ERNs and the national Contact Point for patients in Malta.
