The Czech Government approved the National Strategy for Rare Diseases 2026–2035 on 30 March 2026. Prepared by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with medical experts and patient organisations, the strategy establishes a long-term framework for improving care for people living with rare diseases in Czechia.

The strategy aims to create a coordinated, patient-centred, and data-driven system that improves access to early diagnosis, effective treatment, and long-term support. Key priorities include strengthening care coordination, expanding specialised centres, improving access to expert information and education, enhancing data use, and fostering national and international cooperation. The strategy was developed under the EU co-funded SYPOVO project focused on integrated health and social care for patients with rare diseases.
