Within the framework of the Precision Medicine in Pediatric Care (PMPC) project — Centre of Excellence for Precision Medicine in Pediatric Care — a special February edition of the “Pizza & Science” lecture series will take place, featuring rare disease expert Anne Hugon. A parent advocate and professional in the field of rare diseases, she brings a powerful dual perspective that combines lived experience with expertise in health policy and project management. Currently serving as an EU Project Manager at ERN ITHACA within AP-HP, she has long been active in promoting patient rights and access to quality diagnostics and care. Her lecture, “Conversations on Rare Diseases: Experience, Challenges and Hope,” will take place on 26 February 2026 at the Children’s Clinical University Hospital.
The PMPC project was launched on 1 January 2025 by Bērnu klīniskā universitātes slimnīca under the Horizon Europe “Teaming for Excellence” programme, in partnership with the Princess M?xima Center. Its mission is to advance precision medicine approaches in the diagnosis of paediatric diseases and the use of targeted therapies, thereby improving the quality and outcomes of children’s healthcare.
